■ API Sandbox

A sandbox environment for every stage of your integration.

From a quick no-signup test to formally onboarding an external partner with their own token — httpdrop covers both sandbox levels without leaving the same account.

Sandboxing the manual way

  • Exposing your production API for a partner to test during onboarding
  • Standing up a dedicated sandbox environment eats infra time nobody has spare
  • No way to isolate a specific vendor's access or revoke it without affecting others
  • No record that the integration was actually validated before going live

With httpdrop

  • Instant, no-signup sandbox for quick prototyping, valid for 4 hours
  • Partner Sandbox: per-partner isolated environment, with its own token, portal and live docs
  • Detailed per-partner request logs, fully isolated
  • Revoke access per token, with zero impact on other partners
  • Partner usage billed to the same account — no separate account, no extra billing

How it works

1
Tier 1 — quick test, no login
Spin up a temporary endpoint instantly, no signup, to validate an idea or debug something one-off.
2
Tier 2 — full account
Persistent Mock Rules, stateful CRUD, per-route Chaos Mode.
3
Tier 3 — Partner Sandbox
For formal onboarding of external vendors: each partner gets their own token and portal.
4
Partners test in isolation
Live docs with a built-in "try it now," without touching your real API.
5
Switching to production is your call
Once the simulated contract checks out, you decide when to grant real access.

What httpdrop API Sandbox is

  • An isolated simulation environment, with two tiers: quick/anonymous and formal/partner-scoped
  • Contract validation — proves the consumer knows how to send and parse the right data

What it isn't

  • Not a load test against your production infrastructure
  • Not a replacement for a staging environment with real data and business rules

Use cases

Quick prototyping
Validate an integration idea in minutes, no account overhead.
Banks and fintechs
Onboarding external partners (TPPs, correspondent banks) with scoped access and live docs.
Marketplaces and B2B SaaS
Onboarding sellers, integrators or technical partners before granting access to the real API.

FAQ

What's the difference between the quick sandbox and Partner Sandbox?
The quick one is anonymous, no login, valid for 4h — good for a one-off test. Partner Sandbox is formal, scoped per partner with their own token, built for real external onboarding.
Can one partner see another's data?
No — each Partner Sandbox token is isolated to a specific partner.
Does this replace my staging environment?
Not necessarily — it covers the step before that: proving a partner knows how to call your API before granting access to real data. See Partner Sandbox in detail.
